SNOW!
Yesterday was a snow day! It snowed all day, and all the previous night and when I woke up, it looked beautiful outside. Unfortunately, this beauty meant that our travel network came to a stop and I couldn't get to work. However, I learned a valuable lesson: I am quite good at making snowballs but rubbish at fighting with them ..

It seems that I, too, am rubbish at fighting with snowballs; I lack the killer instinct to go for the head shot; however, my large surface area represents a fantastic target for any nearby snow-wielding ankle-biter. They appear to have no difficulty in attacking with apparently lethal intent.
Lessons learned? Never go to the ground in a snowball fight.
Once their throwing arms got tired I discovered that I'm a dab hand at dragging the little darlings and their sledges up hills.
Net result - I'm still tired today.
If only I knew some sort of action-herbalist-type with a healing draft, tincture or possibly even a poultice....
Us non-snowball fighters are a rare breed. In fact, I think it's a highly over-rated activity best left to said ankle-biters. Still, at least you have other talents like 'uphill dragging'.
And arnica, darling, I tell you, that's what you need! Or fancy a nice poultice of comfrey leaf? Or a soothing cup of oat and wood betony tea?
I ache all over so I'm guessing that the poultice might be a logistical problem. Mmmmmm, Oat and Betony, sounds just dreamy.
Tristan has just produced a bag of dried marigold flowers and I've been reduced to tears.
Bless you my dear. You touch our lives in so many special ways.
