BEAUTIFUL THINKING

I heard a fascinating article on the radio this morning about a certain way of thinking of words and especially the vowels within words. It tricks with its simplicity!

SUCCESS!

Ah-ha! It seems that my fiendish pester campaign has finally worn Martin Johnson down! Quote from The Telegraph: "Nick Easter has nailed down the No 8 slot despite being summoned to the squad only on Friday."

YIKES!

I am often sent random pictures of Notre Dame by friends who are passing by 'my' church so that I can maintain my spiritual connections with Paris. This one which arrived the other day is quite alarming! Either Notre Dame has changed its orientation or my friend was drunk! Hmm ..

CALENDAR

Trusty sources have checked out The Calendar and deemed it suitable. So suitable, in fact, that they bought two copies. Apparently, the photo of Mirco is 'mag-ni-fique' and this magnificent being even scored a try this week-end (albeit playing for the Espoirs). And 'Quins won convincingly too! A good week-end.

SPIDER

I love autumn; the garden becomes more architectural, leaves turn amazing colours and the dew in the morning means the spiders' webs take on a precious quality.

H-CUP

Good start to the first H-CUP week-end with wins for both Stade and Harlequins! I'm really looking forward to their matches in December!

POOR JONNY

It's been confirmed that Jonny won't play in the VI Nations, having injured his knee more seriously than at first thought over a week ago. While I still believe that England doesn't need Saint Jonny to do well, I can't help but feel for him (especially since I, on occasions, can sound as hippy-zen as he does) so I hope his recovery goes well.

ON READING WOOLF

Q: I would like some information regarding Virginia Woolf. How long does the reading take? How long does one need for recovery? Are there any precautions to be taken before starting? How much does she cost?

A: She is safe and simple only if assisted by a guidebook and can be completed within 20 days to one month. Make sure to have Prozac with you during the entire time of reading. Once finished, the reader can recover his energies by reading absolutely nothing for a few hours and taking complete rest for a weekend before resuming with other books. The cost will depend on whether you are buying first-hand or second-hand editions.

NEW SHIRT

Stade have been playing around with the designs of their shirts for a while now but with their latest offering, they've really surpassed themselves. I think it will definitely be interesting to see it in action!

YOGA - X

This pose "stretches the entire front of the body and strengthens back muscles, improving posture." Hmm, quite difficult, this one ..
