PANCAKE DAY!

Not sure I'm giving anything up for Lent though!

BIRTHDAY!

It's another birthday for Mirco today and since we have a fortnight's break from the VI Nations, a chance to catch up on some rugby news. Last week-end's games are a slightly dim memory and although England are now third in the table, I still have to admit I felt a frisson of excitement watching their match against Wales. Indeed, that match and the Italy-Ireland one all seemed to hinge on the first terrible moments of the second half. Mirco, if you're reading this: Happy Birthday and enjoy your celebrations, but you really need to pick up the pace, babe, and find your try-scoring limbs again!

VI NATIONS I

There are many things we could say about the opening match last week-end. Exciting is not one of them, although Mirco did score a try! Italy at least showed a spark of passion, England just plodded through the 80 minutes. The scrum-half Mauro experiment did not come off, his centre of gravity just not being low enough to throw that scrum ball correctly. Thankfully, France was there to lift the spirits (even though they lost) and the other matches of the week-end were MUCH better. Somehow, I don't think England are going to keep their top of the table position much longer though that doesn't stop me looking forward to next week-end!

VI NATIONS AGAIN

Sorry to go all rugby on you again, but today is an exciting day since it is the First Day of the VI Nations and Mirco flag is at the ready! It could get a little boring for the next six weeks for those of you not terribly keen on things related to Mirco, Nick Easter, a strange-shaped ball or men in tight shorts. Today's England-Italy match is going to be even more interesting than usual as Mauro (ordinarily flanker) has been moved to scrum-half. Never let it be said that these Bergamasco brothers are not versatile. Oh, and it seems that everyone's getting in on this stripping off lark, here we have scrum(my)-half, Danny Care in Dieu du Stade pose:

SNOW!

Yesterday was a snow day! It snowed all day, and all the previous night and when I woke up, it looked beautiful outside. Unfortunately, this beauty meant that our travel network came to a stop and I couldn't get to work. However, I learned a valuable lesson: I am quite good at making snowballs but rubbish at fighting with them ..

It's that special time of year again and to get us in the mood, some players (although not nearly enough in my opinion) have stripped off in the French manner. This one's for you, loulou! ;p

YOGA I & II

My goodness, it's February already and I realise we haven't really been taking our yoga seriously so far. However, let's not be hasty, it's not too late, and it doesn't mean that we should launch into a yoga frenzy, don't forget it's a form of exercise that seems to respond to mindfulness and gentleness. Anyway, two pictures to show what we should have been trying to do so far. I can tell you I have definitely mastered the right leg of January's pose and the top half of February's ;p
