DIRECTION: ST. PANCRAS

What to say about the long-awaited trip to Paris? In brief: sleepless night – nausea - shortest tour ever of Eurostar St. Pancr(e)as - home. Not an Eiffel Tower in sight. Aw, keep taking the meadowsweet and get well soon, anon.

H-CUP: FIN

It’s ages since I’ve been to a real live rugby match but recently I was lucky enough to see Stade in all their pink glory when they came to play against Harlequins. They won that match but unfortunately didn’t get through to the H-Cup :(

DIRECTION: PARIS

To keep with the resolution of visiting Paris very often this year, anon and I are soon off to spend a convivial, stimulating, inspirational, cultural time there, or otherwise wreak havoc. And only 14 more sleeps to go ;p

AND BREATHE ..

So, it's the end of the exams and I have been celebrating by catching up on some neglected things, like painting the hallway (it occurs to me that I really ought to get out more). Probably, the simplest (and only bloggable) thing I can say about them is: they’re over, until the next end-of-term anyway. However, I still feel a bit haunted by such things as the structure and function of a triglyceride, the location of the navicular tuberosity and never again will I forget how to test for muscle strength in C6, 7 and 8.

YOGA

Last year, I resolved to eat fewer michokos and I did, in fact, manage to wean myself off those evil little chocolate chewy things. I also resolved to do more yoga, which, unfortunately I didn't quite achieve. This year, however, I am not just resolved, I am determined AND resolute. I can be found regularly salutating the sun and have even strategically placed a yoga calendar on the wall so that I am reminded of my resolve. And by the end of the month, I WILL be doing the above pose (revolved side angle pose) with ease.

SF – MONTPELLIER

It was with a heavy heart that I logged on to Stade’s website after yesterday’s match to find out the result. I blinked and blinked again when I read the score was 33-6. IN STADE’S FAVOUR. And then I had to go to l’equipe.fr for verification. Oh, me of little faith! (yes, I am hanging my head in shame). So, additions to this year’s wish list: Stade to win the H-CUP and Mirco to score lots of tries!

VISCERA

Well, there’s no rest for the wicked and I’ve been working very hard on various anatomical and physiological things in preparation for the forthcoming rentrée, which means exam. Which also means I’m becoming an A&P bore and sounding very fluent in Latin. I know the location of the great saphenous nerve, as well as being able to differentiate between the vastus medialis and the rectus femoris. Now, I’m just contemplating buying a liver to assist with my assignment.

BRAND NEW YEAR

To start the new year, I thought I'd share part of my wish list:
- pass all my exams
- visit Paris as often as possible
- learn to swim properly
- Mirco to move to an English club
- everyone to live happily ever after.

Happy New Year!
