The Calendar is due out any time now and someone is under strict instructions to vet it, i.e. scrutinise it for Mirco photos, and report back on its suitability. I'm waiting eagerly ..

ROTHKO
As is often the case, I was torn this week-end between rugby and art. Art won (with hindsight, a jolly good thing) and I went to the wonderful new Rothko exhibition at the Tate. There are nine superb rooms within which you can still gain a sense of peace even if there are other people milling about. It raised lots of questions about such things as meaning, colour, composition, space, context, um, maybe the next visit should be to the Curator's lecture ..

SAINTLY
Many moons ago, when I acquired my 'wanadoo.fr' account, I was necessarily obliged to go via their homepage in order to access those emails. There is a lot of vaguely uninteresting chit-chat on this homepage but there is always one thing I can't help checking out and that is whose saint day it is. Believe me, there are so many obscure saints that you think they must have made them up for that day. Unfortunately, there isn't (and isn't likely to be any time soon) a 'Saint Yatje' ;p

DMF
It's time I came clean and admitted to a fairly recent but no less for that obsessive addiction. It all started fairly innocently one lunchtime earlier this summer while waiting in the queue at (evil) Starbucks. From the cheery, brightly-coloured, 'buy me' chalk board, I heard the 'new' Dark Mocha Frappuccino calling my name. Since that day, me and DMF can be found together on an almost daily basis. Luckily, since any (rare) display of crotchety behaviour can be put down to a lack of beloved DMF, I'm not seeking rehabilitation yet.

LONDON DOUBLE HEADER
It's always nice to go to Twickenham and especially so when there are two rugby matches in a row to watch. I have to say that the first game was not all that inspiring although London Irish deserved to win that one. The second game was definitely more interesting and could have gone either way. Luckily, the best team, with the best socks, won!

SCRUM
It has to be said that since Scrum made its move from Park to (urban) Beach, things are somewhat lacking in terms of atmosphere, entertainment and generally rugby-ness. (And no, it's not that I'm miffed that my chouchou wasn't there, honest ;p )

PUBLISHED
On rummaging through the latest autumn-winter catalogues, I am over the moon to see that I am, at last, A Published Photographer in an Official Publication. Okay, I'm not credited personally and the potential audience is rather limited to those who like all things natural and herby but still, I know that it's me! I took that photo! And so now do all my friends!

NEW SEASON
© stade.fr
On the eve of the start of the English rugby season, I realise things have been a bit lax around here in that department so here I am to make amends. Last week end was the last 'friendly' week-end and Harlequins won their match against Parma with a final score of
64-6! And I'm hoping for even better things tomorrow! With maybe even a try from Nick Easter. ;p
Meanwhile, over on the other side of the channel, Stade have been busy presenting themselves to their season ticket holders
<.. sigh ..>as well as winning matches. Last week-end, they (okay, only just) won 27-22 against Mont de Marsan. The amazing thing (for me) about this match was that boy wonder was the kicker! And he kicked 17 of those 27 points! As an aside, I think the two respective team photos are very interesting from many viewpoints ..
