H-CUP I

Nothing much gets done during the week-ends when the Heineken Cup is on (or for that matter during any week-end when The Rugby is on) and there are sooo many matches to follow! Out of the two that hold any significance for me, I'm pleased to report that Stade started their campaign this year with a decisive win against Edinburgh: 31-7 (Mirco deigning to make an appearance for the last 18 minutes or so) while 'Quins lost to Cardiff: 20-6. I was able to watch the latter match, which was maybe not such a good thing as I felt increasingly frustrated at their clumsiness as the game wore on. Nick would surely have scored a try! Still, an interesting opening week-end where an Italian team had the audacity to beat a champion French team and Leicester showed their famed tenacity which has cost Stade dear in the past. Luckily they are not in the same pool this year. But it looks like another good week-end in prospect!
