WISH TREE

There's a lot been happening in the rugby world but rather than bore you with that for the moment, I thought I'd tell you about a lovely event on the south bank. 'Tanabata' ('festival of the stars') is a 2,000 year old Japanese tradition where people write down their wishes on coloured pieces of paper and hang them on bamboo branches on the luckiest day of the year - this year: 7th July. From 30th June until that luckiest day, you can hang your wish on the Tsuru bamboo tree. They have even promised to grant one lucky customer’s wish! (well, up to £100, that is!)
